- -------------------------------------------
- LEDline® safety lighting is; long-lived; weather and chemically resistant; and is not affected by road or airfield salt, hydrocarbons, glycol, or other airport de-icing pad chemicals.
- -------------------------------------------
- LEDline® safety guidance lighting is linear, so provides both positional and directional guidance. Point source guidance only provides positional guidance, unless one can see a lot of the point sources at the same time, which, in bad weather, is not always possible.
- ----------------------------------------------
- In all weathers, LEDline®’s safety guidance visibility is comparable to standard ICAO / FAA airfield taxiway lights. And, at Anchorage International, in bad weather, its linear directional qualities were preferred by the pilots. (See the enclosed pilot evaluation letters).
- -------------------------------------------
- As with the old incandescent/halogen FAA / ICAO airfield in-pavement lights; LEDline® guidance safety lighting melts snow and ice without needing any additional heating elements. It is the only LED light source that can do this. Therefore, LEDline® is MORE energy efficient than any other airfield visual aid lights, including the LED-based ones!
- The FHWA successfully tested earlier LEDline® safety guidance lighting to 88,000 lbs. direct loading without any damage. In another test, using the lamp section alone, when suspended between two supports and subjected to 1050 lbs. direct loading in its middle, LEDline® was bent some 75mm (3”) out of true. Despite this, the solid LEDline® matrix did not crack and the lamp continued to function normally. (See pictures below).
- -------------------------------------------
- LEDline® guidance lighting was installed as airfield guidance at Vancouver International’s de-icing pads in Fall 2009. Since then and to this day, it has never been turned off! Therefore, LEDline® has worked successfully and continuously for some + 12 years and counting.
- -------------------------------------------
- LEDline® guidance lighting is submersible. TESTED FOR LIGHTING THE ESCAPE CHAMBERS OF SUBMARINES, earlier versions were successfully tested by the Canadian Navy down to SEAWATER DEPTHS OF 300m (approx. 1000ft.).
- -------------------------------------------
- So successful were these pressure tests, that the LEDline® continued to be used for lighting within the test pressure chamber. To date, it has now done thousands and thousands of pressure tests to seawater depths of 300m (1000ft.).
- -------------------------------------------
- Compared to other in-pavement guidance lamps, linear LEDline® guidance safety lighting is far more versatile as it can easily create LIT in-pavement numbers and signs. In addition, compared to other airport visual aids, especially LED ones, LEDline® continues to be far, far less costly to purchase and install, approx. 60% less!
